1939 – 2026
Dieppe, NB – Maria (Goguen) Hutnick, 87 years old, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, on June 28th, 2026, after a sudden illness.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB, she was the daughter of the late Adèle (Caissie) Goguen and the late Fred Goguen (P’tit Fred).
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, George Hutnick.
Maria leaves behind one sister, Dorilla (Alphonse) Boisvert and three brothers: Normand (Susan) Goguen, Alfred (Odette) Goguen and Joseph (Lorraine) Goguen.
She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews from both Canada and the USA. Maria resided in the USA for over 30 years with her husband, George, until they retired in Cap de Cocagne.
Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Arthur (Elise) Goguen, Amédée (Albina) Goguen, Aurélie (Herby) Richter, Désiré (Esther) Goguen, Robert (Rolande) Goguen, Irène (Léandre) LeBlanc, Germaine (Albert) Poirier, Yvonne (Joseph) Richard, Wilfred (Anna) Goguen, Nora (Julius) Ironhat, Raymond (Grace) Goguen and Rhéa (Roméo) LeBlanc.
As per Maria’s request, there will be no visitation, a private burial will be held at a later date.
