Joseph Alexander Robert (Robert/Bob) Fougere

1943~2026

The passing of Joseph Alexander Robert Fougere (Robert/Bob) of Fredericton, NB, husband of Carole Fougere for 44 years, occurred on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at The Horizon Veteran’s Center. Born on June 7, 1943, in Shediac, NB, he was the son of Adelard and Elizabeth Fougere.

He spent his career in the Canadian Armed Forces for 37 years as a Regimental Sargent Major with Royal Canadian Dragoons.

Bob was based in numerous locations in his Forces career including, Cypress, Germany, Trenton ON, Base Gagetown Oromocto NB

and finally, Moncton, NB. He then became a Canadian Corp Commissionaire as a Security Officer working at the Greater Moncton Romeo LeBlanc International Airport among other locations in Scoudouc, NB. He settled in Shediac, NB for many years before moving to Fredericton, NB. Bob was an avid boater, having several boats in his lifetime. He enjoyed time on the water with his family, friends and his best friend, Clayton Gallant, who he spent many hours with on the water at Pointe du Chene Wharf in Shediac. Bob also enjoyed his many motorcycles, his Harley Davidson and Kawasaki Valcon, you could always catch him having a coffee in the evenings at Pointe du Chene Wharf. Bob is survived by his Wife of 44 years, Carole Fougere, Daughter – Suzette Fougere- Koshman (Darrell), Step-Daughter – Kim Denton Moore (Stephen), Son – Greg Fougere (Tina), Jeff Whalen (Stacie). Grandsons – Tyler Koshman, Christopher Moore, Chance Whalen, Granddaughter – Jasmyn Fougere, Great Granddaughters – Isla and Callie Koshman, Great Grandson – Callum Whalen and Nephew Mark Fougere. He is predeceased by his Grandson, Nicholas Koshman and his only brother, Henri Fougere.

As per Bob’s request, there will be no funeral service. A private graveside service for family only will be held at a later date.

The Family would like to thank the Moncton Veteran Center and Horizon Veterans Center for their kindness and the great care over the past 4 years.
