It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jessica Leger, who left us on March 27, 2026, at the age of 43.
Born on January 4, 1983, in Miramichi, Jessica was a gentle soul with a quiet strength and a deeply loving heart. She shared a beautiful life with her husband and the love of her life, Eric Leger. Together, they created countless cherished memories through their many adventures, bound by love, laughter, and companionship.
Jessica will be profoundly missed by her parents, Lloyd Vautour and Jeanne O’Brien, as well as by her extended family and many dear friends. She had an incredible capacity to love, always showing warmth, kindness, and care to those fortunate enough to know her.
A true animal lover, Jessica, had a special place in her heart for cats and all creatures. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—whether it was watching her favorite Disney classics, keeping up with The Young and the Restless, or celebrating her love of music as perhaps one of the biggest Backstreet Boys fans, even having the unforgettable opportunity to meet the band.
Jessica had a passion for cooking and took great pride in preparing meals for others, approaching her recipes with precision and care, creating dishes that brought people together. She also enjoyed travelling, especially visiting Halifax, where she embraced the city’s vibrant spirit.
She had a playful side as well, with a love for anime, Halloween, and Christmas, and was known for her wonderful sense of humor. Though often quiet, Jessica possessed a remarkable determination that carried her through life’s challenges, including her courageous journey through illness.
Above all, Jessica’s greatest joy was the love she shared with Eric, her family, and her friends. Her presence brought comfort and light, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Cooperative, 625 Mountain Road, Moncton, New Brunswick, on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a chapel service at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all family and friends for their unwavering support and kindness throughout this journey.
In memory of Jessica, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
