Glenn Hansen

1959~2026

It is with profound sadness that the family of Glenn Dale Hansen, 66, announce his peaceful passing surrounded by family and friends in hospital on Tuesday, May 27, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Moncton, Glenn was the son of Rose (Saulnier) Hansen and the late Lewis Hansen. He is survived by his partner and best friend, Carolyn Lefergey, his siblings Verna (Stuart), Laura, Dean, Sheena (George), and Shawn (Kelly); several nieces and nephews, Tonya, Chase, Cole (Alejandra), Dylan, Curran, Denver, Kendyl, Grayden, Penny, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and a close circle of lifelong friends.

Glenn was predeceased by both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Glenn was a proud member of the United Association Local 325, working as a Red Seal Sprinkler Fitter in the fire protection industry. He joined the union in November 2001 and continued in this trade until his retirement in 2021. Working throughout the province and out west, coworkers nicknamed him MacGyver. He made lasting friendships wherever he worked. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters of UA Local 325 for his kindness, strong work ethic, and dedication to his craft.

Glenn cherished the time he spent with family and friends. Glenn and Carolyn shared a love of music together. They enjoyed long drives along the Fundy Coast, often stopping for long nature walks and roadside barbecues. He held fond memories of summers in New Denmark and often spoke lovingly of Papa Hansen. A true lover of the outdoors, Glenn found great joy on the golf course and enjoyed fishing, many times returning to his favorite fishing spot. A lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadiens, he rarely missed a game. He also loved to cook and enjoyed a good plate of spaghetti, one of his favorite meals. Glenn had a gentle, tender side, especially evident in the loving care he gave to Ziggy, his adorable cat. Glenn had an incredible sense of humor and was known to tell a joke or two. His laugh was infectious. He will be deeply missed by his close circle of family and friends, who gather regularly at Christmas, birthdays, and other special occasions, often enjoying backyard bonfires, good food, great tunes, and Sunday NASCAR races.

Arrangements are entrusted to Passage Funeral Cooperative, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB. 506-857-1901 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, from 2-4 p.m. There will be no funeral service. A celebration of life with family and close friends will take place at a later date.

In memory of Glenn, donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
