Gilles Drisdelle

1946-2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gilles Drisdelle, aged 79, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Scoudouc, he was the son of the late Léandre Drisdelle and the late Bertha (Bourque) Drisdelle.

Gilles worked for 35 years at Atlantic Wholesalers in Moncton as a forklift operator. He lived for many years in Dieppe, Moncton, Cap-Pelé, and Shédiac.

His passing will be deeply mourned by his sister, Yolande (Ernestine) of Moncton, and his brother Rhéal of Dieppe; his daughter Nathalie (“Peste,” as Gilles called her) (Dale Bickerton) of Moncton and his son André of Dieppe, as well as his grandchildren: Souleye of Moncton and Mirabelle of Dieppe; and his nephews Mario Cantin of Montreal and Sullay Kamara-Drisdelle of Dieppe.

Gilles was a very devoted father to his children, whom he loved dearly. He cared deeply about their well-being and was always ready to come to their aid.

He loved following political news—provincial, national, and international—as well as hockey and baseball. Gilles enjoyed playing pool and bowling. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Dieppe and later in Cap-Pelé. He loved visiting the region’s docks, particularly at Pointe-du-Chêne and L’Aboiteau. His infectious laugh and smile, his sharp mind, and his sense of humor brightened every occasion. He was particularly fond of Lobster and His Alpine!

Visitation will be held at the Passage-Shediac-Bridge Funeral Cooperative, 363, 3754 Route 134 (NB), 506-857-1901, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 4:00 p.m.

The family invites you to sign the online condolence book at: www.funerairepassagefuneral.ca.

Arrangements are being handled by the Passage Funeral Cooperative and Cremation Center.
