1944 – 2026

Surrounded by family, Geraldine passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on September 18, 2026. Born in Halifax County, she was the daughter of the late Alfreda (Bateman) and Harold O’Grady.

Geraldine will be deeply missed by her daughter Melissa, her son-in-law Kevin, and her two beloved grandchildren Joshua and Olivia. Her grandchildren were the greatest loves of her life. She was immensely proud of them and treasured the time she spent with them. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Diane, Marjorie, Rosie, Gertie, Madeline, and Shirley, and her brothers Gordon, Gerald, John, Charles, and David.

Music was always close to Geraldine’s heart. She loved singing in the choir at St. Peter’s Church in BC and found great joy in music throughout her life. In her later years, she especially enjoyed listening to music at the Grass Home, where it brought her comfort and happiness.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Grass Home for their exceptional care, compassion, and kindness toward Geraldine.

Honouring Geraldine’s wishes, cremation will take place and she will be buried with her mother in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Nova Scotia. Geraldine’s celebration of life service will be on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 1:00PM with a reception to follow at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview (506-869-2007). Donations made in Geraldine’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
