Ernest J. Maxwell, 85, of K.E. Spencer Memorial Home passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026. Formerly of East Dieppe, Ernest was born in Harrisville, NB he was the son of the late James and Dorothy (nee Hyslop) Maxwell.
Ernest retired after a career as an Electrician. Ernest, along with Donald MacLeod and Roberta Hebert were instrumental in bringing the Boys and Girls Club to East Dieppe, through Dances and Bingos as fund raisers for the organization.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Dorothy (née Kelly); children, Glenn (late Betty), Chris (late Mary), Scott (Maggie) and Angela Landry (Mark); grandchildren, Glenn Thomas (Jeanine), Kimberly, Mitchell (Chelsea), Nicholas (Maggee) and Kaitlyn (Matt); 11 great grandchildren, with another on the way this spring; sisters, Gertrude, Sandra and Lillian; brother, Arthur Maxwell; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by his sisters Marie, Muriel, Elena and Ruby
In keeping with Ernests’ wishes there will be no visitation hours or funeral service. Interment will be held in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery.
