With broken hearts, the family of Eileen Ann (Keenan) Fournier announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Albert House, with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Howard, NB along the Miramichi River on February 20, 1938, Eileen attended school in Blackville and after graduating moved to Moncton, NB for employment.

She was predeceased by her parents, Willie and Lillian Keenan, her sister, Kay and brother-in-law, John Stultz as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henri and Gertrude Fournier, brothers-in-law, Donald, Maurice, and Norbert Fournier, Gene Allen, and sisters-in-law, Lillian Fournier and Nicole Pelzmann.

Eileen will be deeply missed and forever loved by her husband of 66 years, Jean-Guy Fournier; their four children, Darlene Geneau (Mike Gaudet), Tony (Chantal Melanson), Paul (Sandra), and Phil (Stacey) Fournier; as well as their nine grandchildren who she cherished: Tasha, Jessica, and Jonathan Geneau, Josh, Jeremy, and Jordan Fournier, Marc Fournier, Celia, and Charlie Fournier and eight great grandchildren, Seth, Grayson, Alexis, Parker, Jayce, Callum, Hunter, and Kurt and many, many nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Robert (Madine) Keenan, Gerald (Daphne) Keenan; her sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Layton) Shaw, Llowyin Fournier, and Jeanne Allen; and her brother-in-law, Robert (Carmel) Fournier.

In her early years, Eileen devoted herself to raising her children and caring for her family as a loving wife and homemaker. Later in life, she worked for Zellers retiring with 25 years of service.

Eileen was a faithful parishioner of St. Augustine’s RC Church in Moncton, and, while spending time at the family cottage at Walton’s Beach, also attended St. Clement’s RC Parish in Port Elgin, NB.

Her family and friends were her greatest joy. Many days were spent cooking the greatest molasses cookies, homemade bread and rolls, and preparing her delicious spaghetti sauce for her famous spaghetti nights and special family occasions/turkey suppers, which she loved.

She enjoyed spending time at her cottage at Walton’s Beach, the beautiful sunsets, playing cards, and hosting many gatherings and always had a cup of tea or a Schooner beer for anyone who dropped in. Eileen always had a listening ear, gentle advice, open heart, and welcoming home for family and friends.
