July 5, 1954 – August 28, 2026
Claudia Brown, 72, of Memramcook, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026. Born in Fosterville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Sedences and Alice (Dewit) Wood.
Claudia was a creative and talented woman who enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and crosswords, but the true masterpiece of her life was her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest pride, and there was nothing she treasured more than the people she loved.
She was the heart of her family – the person her children could always turn to, no matter how old they became. She loved deeply, worried endlessly and spent her life caring for the people she loved.
She leaves behind her husband, Jimmy Brown, who shared her life, her family and so many of the memories that made it meaningful; daughters Melissa Stockford and Marsha Muise (Nathan); sons Kevin Brown (Paige MacKay) and Quinton Brown (Gabrielle Michaud); grandchildren Ethan, Rebecca, Emma, Rowyen, Logan, Sophie and Fiona; great-grandchildren Hunter and Atticus; sister Deanne Anderson (Gary); and brother Keith Wood (Phyllis). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends, all of whom she loved deeply.
Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Allysha Brown; sisters Iona Glenn (Edward), Inez Foster (Earl), Gloria Smith (Rainnie), Collen Munn (Gary), Joyce Wood and Sheila Wood; and brothers Ivan Wood (Joan), Walter Wood (Barbara), Elden Wood (Karen), Eugene Wood (Ann), Gary Wood and Harold Wood.
Claudia faced the final chapter of her life with incredible strength. As her body grew tired, her family remained by her side, holding her hand and surrounding her with love until she took her final breath. Letting her go was one of the hardest things they have ever had to do, but walking beside her until the end was a privilege they will carry forever.
Her family finds comfort in believing that, after all these years, she is finally reunited with her daughter, Allysha, and can give her all the love she never had enough time to give her here. Her passing leaves a space in her family that can never truly be filled. To her children, the privilege of calling her Mom will forever be one of the greatest gifts of their lives, while Jimmy will forever cherish the life and love he was privileged to share with her as his wife. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will remain – woven into the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and carried forward through generations as her greatest and most enduring legacy.
She leaves behind a family forever changed by losing her, but even more profoundly changed by having been loved by her.
In keeping with Claudia’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton, NB (506-858-1995). There will be no formal service; a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
