It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Cheryl Reid of Moncton. who died peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Born on October 26, 1944 in Moncton, Cheryl was the daughter of the Cecil and Audrey Steeves (Kelly). She is survived by her husband Cliff and her son Tom as well as several cousins.

Cheryl was a graduate of Moncton High School, attended Teachers’ College and Université de Moncton, completing her education at the University of Maine with a Masters in School Administration.

She had a varied career in education having been a teacher, art teacher, principal, school supervisor, assistant superintendent and retired as Superintendent of School District # 2 (Anglophone Moncton School District) She also worked in the Department of Education as Consultant in Elementary Education and as a Compensation and Research in Treasury Board. During her career, she was also President of several organizations including the Canadian Association of School Administrators.

A graveside service will be held at Fairhaven Cemetery on Wednesday March 11, 2026 at 1:30 pm, where family, friends, and former colleagues are invited to gather and pay their respect. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of the Moncton City Hospital or a charity of their choice.
