André “Andy” Arsenault

1948 ~ 2026

Dieppe, N.B.- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of André Arsenault, 78, that occurred on Thursday, September 17th, 2026, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.

Born in Adamsville, he was the son of the late André Arsenault, the late Marie-Anne Caissie, and the late Eric Goguen, who was a second father to him.

He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Loblaws, where he was known for his hard work, reliability, and friendly nature. The relationships he built with his colleagues remained an important part of his life. He was happiest outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting, or just heading down a dirt road with no particular place to be. He loved sports, especially the Montreal Canadiens, and enjoyed playing baseball when he was younger. He had a soft spot for animals and over the years had many cats and dogs that were very much part of the family. Anyone who knew him well knew he loved a good joke. He was always ready with a story, a little teasing, or a joke that could get everyone laughing.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years of marriage, Élodie Arsenault (née: Richard); his four daughters: Christine (Maurice), Nadine (Francis), Julie (Eric), and Lisa (Ross); his four beloved grandchildren: Jeannette, Caleb, Emma, and Jack; his sister, Jeanne; his brother, Roger (Suzanne); his brother-in-law, Patrick; several nieces and nephews, the extended Richard family, as well as many friends.

He was predeceased by his two sisters: Margot (Johnny), and Annette.

Visitation will be held at the Passage-Chartersville Funeral Cooperative, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB., on Wednesday, September 23rd, from 9 to 11 am only, followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 11 am.

The funeral service will be recorded and available on André’s obituary the afternoon following the service.

In memory of André and if desired, a donation can be made to the CHU Dumont Hemodialysis unit.

The family wishes to extent their heartfelt gratitude towards the doctors and staff of the Hemodialysis unit and the 3F Palliative Care unit for the great care and compassion given towards André.
