Details of the new contract negotiated by the New Brunswick Nurses Union have been released now that the membership has ratified it.
73 per cent of those who voted were in favour of the deal with a 1 per cent wage increase a year for a total of 4.45% over the 4 year contract.
Nurses Union President Marilyn Quinn says nurses still want improvements in their working conditions. These include the prevention of violence on the job.
Registered nurses will continue to have the ability to accrue retirement allowance up to the maximum under the collective agreement.
