Nova Scotia Man Dies While Snowmobiling Near Bathurst

New Brunswick RCMP say a 52 year old Nova Scotian man has died while snowmobiling in the northeastern parts of the province.

Constable Nick Arbour with the RCMP says the accident happened southwest of Bathurst, near Island lake around 8 last night.

“Friends reported that their friend went off the road, he was traveling with a group of three other people,” says Arbour. “He went off the road and lost control in the curve and he was unresponsive.”

Arbour says the man’s friends called the RCMP but when emergency services arrived on scene they pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Arbour says the investigation is ongoing but so far it appears alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
