Newly Twinned Section Of Route 11 Opens

A new 6.8-kilometre twinned section of Route 11 is now open to traffic between Route 15 and Shediac River.

The federal and provincial governments invested nearly $65 million in the four-lane project which includes a new interchange and modifications to three existing interchanges.

Transportation Minister Bill Fraser says the upgrade will improve safety and efficiency along with helping to support economic development in an important trade corridor.

Meantime, a diamond interchange linking Route 15 with Highway 132 in Scoudouc is planned for next year.
