New Report Shows Positive Economic Growth For Moncton

The Conference Board of Canada has released its economic outlook for the summer and it appears there’s good news for Moncton.

Economist Jane McIntyre says Moncton is expected to be one of the strongest growing economies this year.

“Growth last year was about 1% which is about on average for what it was the last three years, and this year we’re looking more in the range of 3%,” says McIntyre.

She says this positive outlook can be attributed to better manufacturing, no decline in construction and a stable services sector.

McIntyre says another positive is with the lower Canadian dollar and increased demand from south of the border they will see increased growth in manufacturing.
