More federal funds announced today for infrastructure work in Moncton.
4.5 million dollars from the Federal Gas Tax Fund will be used for road repairs and resurfacing.
Deputy Mayor Shawn Crossman says 18 projects will benefit from the money including resurfacing parts of Masters Ave, Ridgewood St., Kilburn Ave., Delong Drive, Derby Drive, Granville Drive and Young St.
It will also do various crack milling on Lewisville and Shediac roads and Commerce and Harris streets and reconstruct parts of Whitfield Trites Road, Vista Drive, Cornhill Street, Echo Drive and Regina Street.
It will also proceed with phase 2 of the Ivy Storm Sewer Relief Program.
Crossman says over the last few years, the City has invested 4.5 million dollars per year in road work.
This new money will increase road safety, and maximize our underground infrastructure.
