New Initiative Launched To Turn Students Into Leaders

The initiative is to transform New Brunswick with the launch of the Robertson Institute for Community Leadership.

All students who are starting out at Community College will, as part of their studies, volunteer to help make the community better.

The institute is named after Cheryl Robertson who chaired the Board of Governors. She says volunteering looks good when grads go looking for work after college because it says a lot about what you’re all about.

The College’s President and C-E-O Marilyn Luscombe says it can also be part of on the job training which happened last year with students in the trades working to build a house for Habitat for Humanity.

Robertson was recently named to the Order of New Brunswick.
