NB Young Francophones Upset By Responses Over Voting Age

The Federation of Young Francophones of New Brunswick are disappointed by the responses from the main political parties to lower the voting age to 16.

The organization notes only the Green Party and the NDP seem to be in favour of the idea.

Spokesperson Elyse Hamel believes young people need to be better engaged in politics at the high school level.

In their response, the Liberals say they want to focus on young voters between 19 and 25 before considering reducing the voting age.

Hamel adds the Conservatives didn’t even bother responding to the survey.
