NB Liquor has decided to ban public solicitations from local groups at its stores starting next June.
Charitable organizations have been able to collect cash and donations for many years both inside and outside NB Liquor outlets,
But NB Liquor spokesperson Marcelle Saulnier says the organization has been receiving complaints from customers who say they were having a negative experience.
Also starting January 1st, the Crown Corporation will also be enforcing a new “passive solicitation policy” which will prohibit minors from soliciting at NB Liquor stores even if they are with an adult.
Saulnier did add the corporation is seeking new ways to continue helping charitable organizations at a local level.
