Who will be elected Speaker when the New Brunswick legislature resumes today?
The Liberals announced late Monday they’ll be putting forward Restigouche-Chaleur M-L-A Daniel Guitard as their candidate.
It should be a straightforward process as all of the other parties have said they won’t put a name forward.
Once the Speaker is in place, the Lieutenant-Governor will deliver the Liberal government’s throne speech at 2 PM.
If Guitard is elected, the Liberals will have 20 seats, the Progressive Conservatives 22, and the People’s Alliance and Green party will each have three.
