NB Gas Prices Going Up

New Brunswick drivers can expect a slight jump in gas prices this week – roughly by one-and-a-half cents per litre.

Senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com says high demand in the United States this summer is creating problems for refineries.

“Refineries want to take advantage of the cheap crude oil and then of course can sell gasoline at a much higher price. But they’re finding they just can’t keep up with demand and many are breaking down,” he notes.

Meantime, McTeague believes diesel prices will also rise in New Brunswick at midnight by about one cent per litre.
