NB Gas Prices Down Again This Week

Gas prices are down again this week.

The maximum price of gas dipped 2.5 cents a litre overnight.

several stations in Moncton are selling for around $1.06 this morning.

Senior Petroleum Analyst with gasbuddy.com Dan McTeague says motorists are seeing higher prices so far in 2017, We paid about 18 cents a litre more for gas last month, as compared to the same time last year. We saw oil drop to $26 a barrel last year, and of course, the Canadian dollar, both those factors really contributed to why we are paying more this year.”

McTeague doesn’t expect prices will change all that much in the coming weeks, “We’re in a bit of a stranglehold right now. I don’t think prices re going to go up all that much and I don’t think they are going to drop all that much. I think $1.06 to $1.13, looks like the normal pricing for February, unless something dramatic should happen.”

As for diesel and furnace oil prices this week, they are also down around 2.2 cents a litre.
