Nature Trust Looking For More Land To Preserve

The Nature Trust is looking to expand the amount of land along the Bay of Fundy coastline that will be preserved. This follows the addition of 5 acres on Deer Island as part of the Clark Gregory Nature Preserve in memory of Dr.Clark Gregory.

Walter Emrich of the Nature Trust says property owners like to leave a legacy.

The latest addition to the Nature Trust was acquired thanks to the help of land donor Jim Johnston and a woman in Maine, Betsy Duncan, who was the partner of the late Clark Gregory, and was granted life estate rights.

Emrich says the undeveloped coastline and steep coastal cliffs create a unique habitat and conditions for rare plants to survive and thrive.
