A Nor’easter is bearing down on New Brunswick today after moving through the U.S. Northeast.
Snow began falling around 8:30am in Greater Moncton and conditions have been worsening ever since.
The roads are becoming slick in the region and RCMP say as of 2pm driving conditions are poor in Southeast New Brunswick.
New Brunswick EMO is not recommending travel on the Trans Canada Highway near Fredericton (between Coles Island and Longs Creek).
Environment Canada meteorologist Ian Hubbard says this low pressure system is bringing gusty winds creating blowing snow and poor visibility.
A snowfall warning has been issued with up to 20 cm of snow expected.
Hubbard says snow is expected to change to rain this evening as the temperature climbs above freezing.
Forecasters are also watching another system which will bring rain and snow to New Brunswick on Friday night into Saturday morning.
