N.B. Food Insecurity Symposium To Be Held This Fall

The New Brunswick Food Security Action Network is hosting a symposium this fall to plan out what collective action will be taken on the issue of food insecurity.

Around 16-percent of New Brunswickers live in food insecure households and it gets worse for children — one in five.

This symposium will focus on the themes laid out in the group’s recent report called ‘Everybody Eats’ which executive director Laura Reinsborough says they don’t want to just sit on a shelf.

“So this is not your typical conference where we’re getting together to think about these issues, we’re rolling up our sleeves trying to bring those diverse stakeholders together,” says Reinsborough.

“And ask these questions, what can be done?”

More details about the event are said to be coming soon.
