The man who was called a hero during the Parliament Hill shooting incident is being named Canada’s ambassador to Ireland.
Sergeant-at-arms Kevin Vickers, originally from Miramichi, was appointed to the role by the Prime Minister’s office today.
Greater Moncton MP Robert Goguen believes that Vickers is a good choice.
“Kevin Vickers… contrary to the Blarney Stone… is a person of very few words but he is certainly very deserving of it.”
Goguen says Vickers may be a quiet man but believes he will certainly represent the country well in Ireland.
Vickers will assume the ambassador role from former Conservative MP and House leader Loyola Hearn.
