The City of Moncton is hoping to hear soon from the provincial and federal governments on a funding commitment for a downtown entertainment centre.
To this point, the provincial Liberals haven’t made any funding promises.
In a yearend interview, MP for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe Robert Goguen says this project will be an economic driver not only for Greater Moncton, but for Southeast New Brunswick as a whole.
Goguen says this project is expected to generate $11 million from the construction alone and $6 million from HST.
He says the federal government is ready to help, but things are being held up by the provincial government.
