Motorists Advised To Stay Off Highways

The plows weren’t able to clear routes yesterday, because of treacherous conditions.

New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization spokesperson Paul Bradley says several highways including Highway 2 between Moncton and the Nova Scotia border and Highway 16 between Aulac and the Confederation Bridge are closed.

He says, “If you don’t have to be on the roads, don’t be onnthem. If you are, be sure to call 511, or check with them to see what roads are open and what are passable.”

Highway 15 between Moncton and Shediac has reopened but travel is not recommended.

He says many motorists were forced to abandon vehicles due to blizzard like conditions yesterday, and there were even a few reports of motorists who were left stranded.
