The worst winter storm of the season has buried Metro Moncton with 55 cm of snow in a blizzard that seemed endless.
Winds have gusted as high as 83 km/h in Moncton and even higher in Saint John at 108 km/h.
Many businesses have closed for the day including Champlain Mall and Codiac Transpo is not running buses today.
Environment Canada meteorologist Jean-Marc Couturier says we are looking at calmer weather over the next few days.
“Looks like we have a bit of a repreive, temperatures will be on the cold side. In behind the storm, we will stay cold.”
Couturier says a system is brewing later this week but he believes it will remain mostly offshore.
