More Testimony From Senior Technological Crime Forensic Analyst At Dennis Oland Trial

The second-degree murder trial of Dennis Oland hearing an iPhone was connected to the main computer Richard Oland used at work at 1:46pm on July 6, 2011 and backed up at 4:41pm – the Crown has stated that the only thing missing from Richard Oland’s office, where he was found dead, was his cell phone.

Senior technological crime forensic analyst with the RCMP Payman Hakimian on the witness stand testifying user activity on this computer stopped at 5:39pm on that day, as well, saying someone by the name of Richard Oland logged in at 1:46pm that day.

Defence laywer Alan Gold cross-examining Hakimian aggressively asking if when you close a web browser does it leave evidence behind. Hakimian answering it depends on the page that the browser is visiting.

Hakimian earlier testified that he seized 12 electronic devices from the crime scene on Canterbury Street and those exhibits were taken back to the RCMP headquarters in Fredericton. He says the Saint John Police had asked the RCMP for help.

Hakimian is expected to be back on the witness stand Tuesday morning with cross-examination continuing.
