More Students Are Struggling With Mental Health Issues

Educators are seeing more mental health issues in students from a wide range of ages.

Anglophone South Superintendent Zoe Watson says it can appear as anxiety, students who cut themselves, school phobias and more.

She says all children will face stressful situations so they want to make them resilient and equip them with those skills.

Next year the district will be expanding a program called Fun Friends for students between the ages of 4 and 7.

It teaches them how to deal with stress, worry, fear and sadness.
