Thirty-one year old Matthew Fahey was tragically killed in a car accident in Mount Washington, BC this week.
The Moncton native had moved out west for work, and his family now wants to bring him home.
Stephanie Plamondon has known Matthew since he was a child, when they both lived in Moncton..
She says he first moved out west to work in the oil industry, but then made a move to a Mount Washington Resort to do something he loved, “He was the most positive person and very happy just being able to ski and snowboard for work. He said he would do it for free if they had let him. He just wanted to bring people together.”
Plamondon has set up a Go Fund Me page for the family, “His mother and father have actually left to drive to Mount Washington to bring him home. I just thought maybe if we came up with a little bit of money, it might alleviate the financial stress of doing the travel, and a service for Matthew when they do get him home.”
She says she has been receiving a lot of messages, “A lot of them are from his friends out west, many of them are from back home in Moncton, and they have moved. They say there were recently a lot of snowboarding and skiing adventures.”
