Moncton Man Admits Bank Robbery

A 53-year-old Moncton man has pleaded guilty to robbing the Caisse Populaire on Churchill Street in December.

Leslie Walter DeYoung appeared in Moncton court yesterday.

DeYoung walked into the bank on the morning of December 29th, handed a note to an employee that stated he had a gun and demanded money.

He was given thousands in cash and then fled the scene in a cab.

DeYoung was arrested on December 31st, after police released photos from video surveillance.

He will be sentenced on February 25th.
