The Conservative MLA for Moncton Northwest says it’s time for Moncton to take the next step – and he feels a downtown entertainment centre would help the city do just that.
But the big issue is funding and Ernie Steeves is unsure whether or not the provincial government is going to commit to it.
“People are questioning and so am I whether that money is there or not. We had it all budgeted for. It was there… it was ready to go… and it’s hard to get an answer on that.”
Steeves says last week’s budget is proof that the Liberal government doesn’t have a lot of money for anything right now, so he is starting to have his doubts that there will be funding for an entertainment centre.
