We could know very soon, what the plan is for the old Moncton High is, that according to Moncton Centre MLA Chris Collins.
He was scarce on details, but he did tell us that a group has approached him and they are looking at a plan that maintains the building, but puts it to another good use.
He says, “It maintains the building, long into the future for the people of New Brunswick and the people of Moncton as well. It’s not a commercial venture, it’s not for business. It will be for community use. They want the building saved and I think we’ve come up with a way of doing that, that still fits within the parameters of what the pressures of the government financially these days.”
Collins hopes to have more details announced soon, “It’s a gorgeous building, and it’s a piece of our heritage and it’s a cultural icon for our city and certainly an architectural marvel.”
