Good Samaritans Are Handing Cash To Some Syrians In Saint John

A series of good samaritans are helping the new Syrian famillies get settled in Saint John.

Patti Gulliver-Goucher is part of a Welcome Team with the YMCA’s Newcomer Connections program.

She tells us she was shopping with a family at Value Village when a surprising thing happened.

Gulliver-Goucher says while they were shopping a man approached her put a $50 bill in her hand and pointed towards the Syrian mom she was helping saying “for her” and then he just turned around and walked her.

She says another man handed a hundred dollar bill to the Syrian man with them and he could not conceive of this kind of generosity.
