Mixed Views On Home Ownership

The Bank of Canada is expected to raise interest rates.

A recent study has found more than half of millenial homeowners want to sell their homes because the expense has left them cash poor. Tom Saulnier of Omista Credit Union says you have to ask yourself what exactly you want out of life before plunging into home ownership.

Saulnier says over the long haul, you’re better off financially buying a home than renting if you plan to settle down but it you want to be mobile with the ability to just pick up and move then renting is a better option.

More than half of millenials who don’t own a home are convinced they never will be able to afford one.
