Medavie EMS Hopes To Help Strengthen Health Care In Province

A future merger of several health care services will mean better and easier accessibility for New Brunswickers.

Medavie EMS has reached an agreement with the province of New Brunswick, and they are looking at combining Ambulance New Brunswick, the extra mural program, which is responsible for home nursing care, and the Telecare 811 program.

President Erik Sande says this would be of great benefit to New Brunswickers, “To optimize those three organizations by coordinating care and as a result improve the accessibility and the delivery of primary health care for individuals and make it easier for them to navigate the health care system for patients and their families.”

Sande says they’ll be working with partners and stakeholders over the next six months to come up with the best ways to optimize the services.
