Ben MacMichael will soon be helping to feed a lot more people in Metro Moncton.
He is going to be the Manager for the new Community Food Centre that will be located in the former Garrison Building.
MacMichael moves from managing the West End Food to the new centre but he says his goals are pretty much the same.
“Community garden aspect… having a garden down there. The edible landscape and being an advocate for food security – these are what’s in the heart of this new food centre,” he notes.
He’ll be going from supporting 300 families to about 1500 families.
Renovations on the building are expected to start in the new future and they hope to officially open on May 2.
MacMichael will begin his new position on March 21.
