A 51-year-old man was shot and killed by police in Bathurst late this morning according to several media reports.
Bathurst Police Chief Eugène Poitras says the man was killed near the VIA Rail station while officers were conducting an investigation.
Police say the man was taken to hospital in Bathurst where he later died.
The man’s name has not been released.
The matter has been turned over to Nova Scotia RCMP who will be investigating the case.
