Man Charged In Dangerous Driving Incident

A 29-year-old Moncton man faces five charges including assaulting a police officer following a dangerous driving incident.

Andrew Leo Caissie was also charged with impaired driving and resisting arrest.

Early last Sunday (November 29), Codiac RCMP found a vehicle allegedly in a dangerous driving complaint involving a firearm.

The driver failed to stop for police and the vehicle hit a police cruiser.

No one was hurt.

Caissie appeared in court Wednesday via tele-remand and was charged with:

  • assault on a police officer
  • impaired driving
  • resisting arrest
  • failure to stop
  • refusal to comply with a demand for a breath sample

He is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Monday for a bail hearing.

The investigation into the possible use of a firearm is continuing.
