A Shediac man has been charged in connection with an attempted assault.
RCMP say a man approached a woman walking her dog on a trail near Chesley Street in Shediac last week (October 21).
Police say the man rolled up a plastic bag like a rope and tried to assault the woman.
She was able to get away without being hurt.
Mounties later identified and arrested a suspect.
Emile Doiron, 49, has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon.
He remains in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
