Man Charged After Alleged Attack In Moncton

A 26-year-old man has been sent for a 30-day psychiatric assessment after another man was allegedly attacked on Alma Street in downtown Moncton on Wednesday afternoon.

Codiac RCMP say Elijah Pope has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, assaulting a police officer, uttering threats and causing a disturbance.

Police say no one was seriously hurt.

Following an assessment, the man will return to Moncton court on August 9th.
