More than 100 people were lined up at the Cannabis NB store on Main Street in Moncton this morning to take advantage of the first day of recreational cannabis legalization.
Most locations opened at 10am but a few in Fredericton opened earlier this morning.
John was among those in line who spoke to the media today and said he wanted to be part of the occasion and celebration.
“I figured it is about time that it’s done. I might as while come out and celebrate with some new friends and some old friends. And hopefully see some new people who have never even consumed before actually coming out and seeing what it is all about instead of believing what they have believed for the last 70 or 80 years,” he notes.
The store’s first customer spent about 15 minutes inside but declined to comment on his purchases.
No more than 40 customers are allowed inside the Cannabis NB stores at any given time.
