History was made yesterday in Prince Edward Island as the Green Party won its first seat ever in the legislature.
Peter Bevan-Baker, won close to 55 per cent of the votes in District 17.
The Green Party of Canada leader and federal MP Elizabeth May was in PEI for the election. She applauded his victory.
The Liberals won a majority government with 18 seats.
The Conservatives received eight. The Green Party, one seat and the NDP, zero.
