More than 5000 people attended Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Moncton Coliseum, honouring those who have served, and those who continue to do so.
The Commanding Officer of the New Brunswick RCMP was in attendance at the ceremony at the Coliseum.
Roger Brown says it is rewarding and humbling to be thanked by the public on Remembrance Day. He notes, “Anytime you get the privilege to serve, and there is an opportunity to interact with the public, it is pretty humbling. We choose to do this because we want to do it.”
He says, Behind all of these uniforms though, we should never forget the families, we should never forget the friends, the neighbours, the communities, the corporate side of the organizations that help us do what we do everyday.”
Brown says the ceremony gives everyone an opportunity to be thankful for how fortunate we are.
