Joint Pilot Project To Help Military Families

Relocating from one province to another can be hard, especially for Canadian Armed Forces members and their families.

That’s why New Brunswick is partnering with the Department of National Defence to try and make it easier.

A new provincewide project will help preplan school attendance for students coming from other provinces, work with doctors accepting new patients to reserve openings for transferring families, and provide easier access to online information about provincial services.

Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan says in a statement that relocations are a difficult experience for Forces members and their families and the government is committed to easing that burden.

Premier Brian Gallant, meanwhile, says the least we can do is help Forces members and their families feel supported, appreciated and right at home here in New Brunswick.

The project is part of a federal initiative called Seamless Canada to improve the co-ordination of services and ease the burden of moving for Canadian Armed Forces members and their families.
