Saint John M-P Rodney Weston announcing more than 554 thousand dollars in federal money is going to the John Howard Society for a program designed to prevent young people from having their lives destroyed by drugs.
The young people, who are considered at risk, take part along with their family members. There will be training in parenting and family life skills.
The General Manager of the John Howard Society in the province, Susan O’Neill says the key part of the program being successful is to repair the broken relationship within the family.
O’Neill says this is an international programme which has worked well.
