New Brunswickers should be proud of the time they spending helping others. It’s national volunteer week!
Thousands of New Brunswickers lend a helping hand on a daily basis, with most of them doing it on a voluntary basis.
The Executive Director of the Volunteer Centre of Southeastern New Brunswick Annette Vautour says you may find a volunteer in at least one location you visit each day, whether it be at the hospital, at a sporting event, at the airport, or elsewhere.
She says says volunteering doesn’t have to take up a lot of your time. Whether it be on a formal basis, by putting in a few hours a week at a local organization, or by just offering to look after a neighbours home, or mowing a neighbours lawn, you are giving back.
She suggests taking a moment this week to thank a volunteer.
