It is expected to be a packed town hall in Shediac tonight, as the issue of an RV and trailer campground are up for discussion.
A petition was launched months ago, and so far, over 2000 people have signed it, opposing the project.
Those opposed argue that the campground will have an environmental impact, and also cause crowding in the community. They also feel that traffic will increase in the already busy tourist town.
The proposed 700 site campground would be located on a piece of land between Pointe-du-Chene Road and Parlee Beach Road.
A protest is planned before tonight’s town hall meeting. A march will start at the Home Hardware in Shediac shortly after 5 pm, and participants will march to town hall for the meeting at 6pm.
